Mariam Touni, President
Mariam Touni is a junior at Wilcox High School and is honored to hold the position of your California FCCLA State President. She has been an active member with California FCCLA since seventh grade and has enjoyed the experience of competing and taking on leadership roles. Mariam started her leadership journey when she was the Chapter President in the 2014-2015 year. She then served as the Region Five president in the 2016-2017 year. During her years in FCCLA, she has developed life long friendships and the courage to take on challenges, big and small. Mariam uses “Aspire to Inspire before you Expire” as a life goal in everything she does. Because of the inspiration she has gotten from past officers and members in FCCLA, she hopes to inspire members that anything can be achieved with hard work and family. She loves adventures, seashells, boogie boarding, stargazing, Culinary arts, and Fashion Design.
Calla Yang, Vice President
As Calla ventures into her junior year at Mills High School, she is exhilarated to serve as California FCCLA State Vice President. This two year journey has been filled with unforgettable memories and lifelong lessons. She hopes to lead the new members by inspiring and supporting them in their journey. In addition to FCCLA, Calla is also Vice President of her school’s Key Club as well as a bi-sport athlete participating in cheer and swimming year-round. She is extremely excited to be working with an amazing group of individuals and cannot wait to continue to develop life long friendships through the many challenges and opportunities ahead.
Eleodoro Duran, Secretary
Eleodoro Duran is a junior at Cesar Chavez High School and is delighted to serve as your 2017-2018 FCCLA State Secretary. He has been an active member in FCCLA since freshman year, and plans to continue to thrive within the organization all four years of high school. He began his leadership roles with serving as his 2015-2016 Chapter Treasurer, then carrying on to be Region 8’s 2016-2017 Treasurer. Eleodoro enjoys hanging out with friends, playing basketball, listening to music, and caring for his farm animals. He is excited for the upcoming year, prepared to welcome new members, and ecstatic for the upcoming challenges in his path.
Maggie Gaytan, Treasurer
Magdali or Maggie Gaytan is a senior at Madera High School. She has been an active member of FCCLA since sophomore year. Maggie was Region 6 Treasure and is now very excited to be the FCCLA 2017-2018 State Treasurer. Maggie enjoys helping others and making others smile. She loves to draw, bake, and the Lord. She hopes one day she can inspire others to make a difference. Her goal is to make many memories for her last year in FCCLA. FCCLA will always have a special place in her heart.
Lucy Andrew, Historian
Lucy Andrew is a junior at Rocklin High School, and is excited to be able to lead as your California FCCLA State Historian of 2017-2018. She previously served as the Region 4 Reporter during 2016-2017, and is glad to be able to continue along her pathway of leadership. She has been a member of FCCLA since her freshman year and hopes to continue leading within the organization. Lucy enjoys photography, playing the guitar, listening to, and discovering new music. She is proud to be able to serve the incredible members of FCCLA and will do her best to lead effectively and efficiently.
Marcos Jonathan Lopez, Reporter
Marcos Jonathan Lopez, a junior at Newport Harbor High School, is thrilled to serve as your 2017-2018 State Reporter. He has been a member in FCCLA for three years and previously served as the Region 9 Secretary. He plans to continue to grow in leadership skills. FCCLA has shaped Marcos into the person he is today and hopes he can help members get all the benefits FCCLA has to offer. Marcos enjoys spending his free time with his friends or at the beach.
