Lydon Olivares, President

Some of her passions, other than FCCLA, are showing rabbits, dairy goats, guinea pigs, market and breeding lambs, and a pygmy goat throw 4-H and FFA. Lydon is the Vice President at a local level for FFA, ASB, and 4-H. Along with leadership opportunities, she enjoys painting, drawing, singing, and doing outdoor activities like paddle boarding, hiking, and rafting in the Kern River which is right outside of her front door! She is even involved in sports such as tennis and wrestling.

After high school, Lydon hopes to proudly represent her California roots in Baton Rouge’s Louisiana State University. She plans on majoring in Animal Science or Agricultural Education to eventually become a high school agricultural teacher back in California.

Jesika Kendall, Vice President

Jesika has been a part of FCCLA for 4 years and has previously served as the Region 2 President. Her hobbies and interests include: talking, laughing, sleeping, eating, cooking, and always living her best life. To Jesika, FCCLA is more than just a pre-professional organization; FCCLA is a place where people could find a place to belong. A place where people from different walks of life come and get together as one. As a family. For FCCLA, Jesika is willing to promote FCCLA from beyond the stage, because she strongly believes in the core values of FCCLA. As a state officer, she is excited to meet FCCLA members from across the state. After high school, Jesika plans to attend a 4-year college and study Hospitality Management and International Business.

Diane Chen, Secretary

Diane is a senior and is extremely elated to be devoting her sixth year in FCCLA to serving as the California FCCLA State Secretary. She has previously served as the Region 9 Secretary and Chapter Historian and Treasurer. FCCLA has given Diane the opportunity to develop her leadership skills and personally make many connections with members state-wide. She is looking forward to a new year, taking the responsibilities as a state officer in order to reach her full potential as a leader. Diane enjoys listening to music, baking, and making her family and friends laugh. After high school, she plans to attend a four-year college.

Sophia Htay, Treasurer

Sophia is a senior and is extremely honored to serve as the 2019 - 2020 State Treasurer. This will be her sixth and final year in FCCLA. She has formerly served as the Region Treasurer and Chapter Vice President. Through this organization, she has gained invaluable leadership skills and has been able to grow as person. She has competed in various competitions in Parliamentary Procedure and Environmental Ambassador. Outside of FCCLA, she volunteers in various activities in her community and has competed in Prostart. Sophia can’t wait for the fun memories and journey that this year will bring.

Deanna Murillo, Historian

Deanna is a senior and is excited to serve as the California FCCLA 2019-2020 State Historian. This will be her 3rd exciting and adventurous year as a FCCLA member. Her goal this year is to increase membership and to show others the importance of Family and Consumer Sciences education while showing how fun FCCLA is. She has previously competed in Sports Nutrition along with Focus on Children. She has served as a Chapter President and the Region 8 President. In addition, she is a member of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and plans to become a coroner in the future. Deanna is ready to work with her amazing state officer team and enjoy the California FCCLA journey.

Kacey Le, Reporter

This is Kacey's third year as an officer and fifth year as an FCCLA member. Kacey could not be more excited to be serving as the California FCCLA State Reporter. Previously, she has served as chapter historian, Region 5 Vice President, and Region 5 Reporter. From these past five years, FCCLA has shaped Kacey to be the leader she is today through new experiences. Outside of FCCLA, she plays lacrosse and was her school’s team captain this last year. Kacey’s hobbies include making videos, attending concerts, and bopping out to 70’s music. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in graphic design. Kacey is delighted to be on this year’s team of officers and can’t wait to see where this year will lead California FCCLA.
